A short summary of the book so far goes, a dying women giving her last confession along with a list of names to a catholic priest along as well as a secret, before any action is taken he is killed in the fog, with this a stranger comes along in the hopes of picking up the pieces and solving the mystery.

Variations of book cover designs:

Quite varied in style, first one being presenting the plot quite literally in its design and the older using type choice and colour  As I knew little to none about her body of work I did a bit of research into previous book covers the one I chose was by Mitchell Beazley and Alan Powers called "Front Cover" Great book jacket and cover designWith my design I tried to stay away from the obvious with making it illustrative and using text to solely present a message, and although its proved to be a challenge, its something I'd like to look at more.

With this design I used a circular shape to illustrate a moon as the novel has the sense of darkness and being set in the night. The obscuring of the lettering possibly adding an element of mystery.

I think I like this design (below) as a final outcome and I might possible develop it further to make it a more effective, looking at colour choices etc.
