Initial ideas

Early on there were several concepts around the idea of money, we all discussed the possibilities of these and were able to agree on a solid theme to develop.

We came together as a group and established what ideas we had, we wrote them all out in this format to show all the variety of ideas we all had and made it easier for each of us to contribute

We added more dates to the contract the 15th 16th and 17th

This contract established a theme and helped us within organization of us all, within meeting as a group and giving us time to allocate time to the work we needed to complete. These dates were spent pitching different ideas and giving feedback on work and tracking progress.

Communication/Methods:

We met a lot in person and we also communicated through social media as a group. Within the contract we wrote down our contact details (mobile and email) as a backup for not being able to communicate otherwise.

Social media was a huge part of our work as we were able to send the progress of work and give each other feedback. When we were all together we were able to pitch ideas and comment on work and development better as we would in a social media chat.

Development:

My main role in the group was to help within the development of the logo, I made several mock ups and we all had our own idea of what we wanted the outcome.

These were some ideas that I brought to the group along with their own ideas, this helped us to create a variation and develop our own ideas at the same time.

We decided on this at the final logo:

Roles:

To make the workload fair everyone had their own roles in which they would focus on, this was efficient as everyone was able to develop on ideas, there were a few times when others had done work and wanted to also work on the development of other aspects of the work so if there was something someone felt that needed to be changed slightly we'd all discuss it and make our own variation in some way or suggest an idea that we can work on.

(Personally) I would of liked to have helped more and contribute more to the team, but i know in the future what I need to do to be a contribute more and have more confidence in my own ideas and such.

Establishing a brand outcome:

Establishing a concept early on made it a lot easier to work towards a final outcome. The theme was 'Investment' and working on this we wanted the title to be something that related to a bank experience and give clarity of the brand.

We discussed a few different names but we all agreed we wanted it to be called the bank of art or leeds bank of art as it establishes what the concept of the whole idea is and being able to show work and be both related to art and banking.

First presentation:

With out initial presentation we each had a part of the presentation in which we talked about in enough detail to be clear to an audience.

Feedback:

  • The poster was intimidating (try and change the tone) Even though its a bank experience we want to create we want it to be different from the norm and be a more causal and visual experience
  • Change the way in which we engage with feedback and make it more accessible to the audience and easier for us to see as it would be more beneficial for us to look at the feedback we're given as the exhibition was going on.
  • We created an alternative logo using everyones own ideas incase we ran into issues with it being too similar to out university logo, we took this into account and made this as an alternative solution:

Final presentation:

Our second presentation resolved some of the problems which were brought up initially and we as a a group got together and discussed it and were able to make appropriate solutions.

Although the presentation wasn't as professional and neat as we were expected to create, we managed to take on board the feedback and present the suitable solutions, showing that we had listened to what had been said and were able to take on board critisism as a group and resolve it appropriately.

We were expected to create more of a pitch and it was said that it was too similar to the original concept of the presentation.

Evaluation:

Honestly i don't think i've done enough compared to the other members in the group, they were all able to contribute a large amount of work and develop it accordingly and informed by feedback.

One of the things in which I want to really improve on is the way that I manage my time and be more organised in my approach to doing things within this course, although I like working with others I think theres a lot of room for me to improve on and change as I want to be a better and more motivated worker, I think I've taken steps in achieving this but I'd really like to be better in how I approach work and such in the future.

I think this brief has been really helpful in helping me realise what I need to work on personally and the amount of work and effort thats expected of me, although I consider myself a concious and helpful person I don't think I showed my full potential and team work skills in this brief but its something I'd really like to improve on as time goes on.
