Friday Crit

Things needed for final critique :
  • Finished print and bound
  • Design boards
  • How we've managed time
After feedback - 

(Not summertive feedback, no major changes should be made or inform changes)

  • Since its pocket size and its purpose is to take it with you. I had the critique that adding a protective sleeve or cover to the book could be best for protecting it. The stock having a bit of a sheen to it means it can be subject to marking.
  • Maybe make it a little more refined (trimming down the edges making it a bit neater)
  • Adding a social media element - people sharing their letters with each other and seeing how different every ones interpretation is.
Evaluation

What I think worked well
I think I was able to design an effective book that conveyed what I planned to and met the target audience effectively.

The stock choice proves sturdy and writes on well, fitting the content and the purpose . The stock and binding choice also allows the pages to fully open with the coptic stitch. 

What I think didn't work well
The binding could of been more refined and the front cover I would of liked to 

What I would change
Adding a different cover, something to give the publication as a whole an official look and seem a bit more of a  professional product. Standing out on a shelf the spine of the book should of maybe been more refined and creative, using a hardcover.

Did I meet the target audience?
I think the design choices, mainly the type used inform a younger audience. Theres a creative and casual feel to the book also shown in layout and size.

Was the outcome effective overall?
I think the publication presents exactly what I wanted to show with the message and the question I wanted to answer. 

Did I manage my time effectively?
I was able to successfully produce an outcome in time for the deadline, both printing and binding I therefor think I was able to manage my time. I've struggled with this before and I think taking the time to look at how to enhance my productivity.
