Primary research was essential to one of the many aspects of the briefs considerations, we were able to discuss different cultural aspects of society and gain more in depth insight as well as understand the importance of research within a secondary context, we gained inspiration from contextual outcomes which revolved around our subject matter of choice.
We identified the issue of tattoo culture and the misconceptions surrounding it, we acknowledged this through thorough research and surveys as well as talking face to face with people in our daily life's. Contextual research revealed various outcome which presented tattoos, with them in mind we made sure to analyse them within the tone they created with various techniques they created.
Development was done by our individual interpretation of tattoo culture and the various aspects we had explored. Through research I identified the workplace relationship of tattoos and a professional environment research revealed that there was a misconception within this environment so to tackle it and create something effective was informed.
Production was undertaken in various aspects, our two main deliverables were within animation which was presented in a video and our photography poster outcome both of these informed the message we wanted to convey and the stigma that existed.
We challenged this stigma by depicting individuals with tattoos and creating a dialogue within their tattoo designs with various phrases created with type, ranging from perspectives which we felt was important to display and consider.
I was able to gain a lot from working in a group there were various aspects of creativity which I had either not yet explored or not had confidence. I was able to refine my skills within animation, I was able to do this with advice and encouragement from my piers. Within photography I was able to observe the production as well as be involved with the direction as much as I could. The other members of my team were much more familiar with photography than me but they were able to provide me with information towards more understanding.
I've really enjoyed working as a team with my group, we were all organised with our time and were on the same page every step of the way. One area which we should of improved on is gaining more feedback from others to better inform our final design and development. Despite this our outcome met the requirements of the brief as well as being an effective presentation of the message we wanted to convey.
