Studio brief 02 - Product, range and distribution - Target audience research (2)

Effective student campaigns

Being better informed of visuals which have been used to be informative to different issues for students.

Student safety

Created for Police Scotland addressing the issue of student safety within a visual campaign. The campaign's aim is to give safety advice to students, the campaign's information was done by distributing printed guides at freshers fairs reaching the target demographic head on.

There is validity in the issue which addresses a specific age group within a specific situation."For a lot of students, it's the first time they've left home, moved into new flats and met lots of new people" The visual aspect of this campaign is effective. The colour choice and illustrative elements, being so bright make it stand out as a campaign, especially for a student demographic.

Think.Eat.Save Student Challenge

A campaign/challenge that encourages students globally to design and address food waste within a concept within an outcome of their choice.

1st Prize ($5,000) - Julia Tasse, leader of What The Food
The winner of the challenge was a concept prototype application (What the food) which links students with different food facilities around campuses which allows them to plan meals more efficiently and to consider the quantities which the food is prepared in, in order to reduce waste.

There are a few existing solutions which are being implemented already which tracks food sales and wastes within schools to reduce waste. With this campaign students can win money for the ideas they present.

The message is distributed through social media with the hashtag #ThinkEatSave to get students involved with the project. The phrasing of the poster uses active and excited language to engage the target audience.
